Your pistol looks like a very nice example of the P1.Įdit - I should also say that yours is the first pistol that I have seen with the entire s/n stamped on the new slide. But, this would not be the only odd thing I have seen with these. The only thing that is odd is that there is usually a "W" number on the right side frames of BW rebuilt guns from around this time period. It also has a new model proof stamp that was used on the later guns, so it appears that it was test fired after the slide was installed. However, your slide has an old type proof stamp on it from when it was manufactured in 1978. I do not see the usual "W" stamp for the rebuild, so I cannot be exact about that. The barrel appears to be original and pinned. This is very interesting, and another example of the less than exact markings of the rebuilt guns.
